Head of Engineering

Job description

We're looking for a Head of Engineering who will help shape and grow our development team. You will be responsible for the operational management of a division within our engineering department and support their career progression.

If you have experience managing multiple teams of engineers and developing them to the next level, this role is for you!


You will

  • Be working closely with the CTO and our other experienced Heads of Engineering as sparring partners

  • Provide leadership, management and technical vision to the engineering organization

  • Continuously foster a healthy culture that drives employee satisfaction

  • Stimulate hiring, employee coaching, mentoring, career plans, training as well as performance reviews and grow your teams to the next level

  • Be working closely with the CTO on improving the development processes

  • Ensure that we are a high production development company and attain optimal team performance

  • Be leading a team where people are taking ownership: they need a leader who will coach and develop them and get the most out of them. You need to understand what is missing and you will drive for results. You need to be a democratic leader, but take the lead if needed. Leaders at Sellics lead without an ego and are role models in self-reflection for the team.

Job requirements

We're looking for people who have:

  • Worked for B2B, SaaS software company having 50+ developers and understand the business

  • Led an engineering department as a Head/Director/CTO previously

  • People management experience in managing a 15+ people team

  • Started their career as an engineer and have a developer background

  • Experience in process management

  • Experience in growing a company,  and have built engineering teams

  • A readiness to leave their comfort zone

  • Bonus: experience with advertisement, automation and handling large amounts of data
